The Innovative Textiles study program provides students with a profound foundation in innovative materials science (fibers, yarns, knitted, woven and non-woven fabrics, finishing chemicals) and modern processing technology (surface engineering, finishing). This know-how lays the foundation for mastering materials engineering requirements such as optimizing processes regarding the manufacturing and finishing of textiles, while considering technical, economic and ecological aspects. This study program prepares students for complex engineering tasks in textile and related industries.
In fact, our textile engineering graduates are in high demand by industry and government, for a variety of careers in research, development, production, and management, both nationally and internationally. The Innovative Textiles study program has an interdisciplinary curriculum drawing on diverse science and engineering principles. The program’s core subjects, which include extensive laboratory exercises, are complemented with appropriate electives to provide a curriculum with a broad base of fundamental engineering courses leading up to two specialization options. Participation in laboratory work by students is an integral part of the curriculum. - This international Bachelor program has duration of 9 semesters (4.5 years) including an internship phase of 18 weeks and a thesis phase of 12 weeks.
